Previously, designs were solely created based on what a client and designer liked and what they considered to be good. The focus was only placed on aesthetics and brand. There was little attention given to the user experience when interacting with a web site or application. Today, several billion people use the internet. This means it is more important than ever that online products have a structured and user centered design.
UI (User Interface) — This considers how the interface looks and the characteristics and functionality it holds. It includes the colour scheme of an online product, whether it will be convenient for users to click buttons, and whether texts will be readable, etc.

UX - This is the planning that is involved with how the user interacts with the interface and the steps needed to ensure site browsing is intuitive. UI is the stage of thinking that considers how each of these steps will look in appearance. UX and UI are closely linked and the border between them is fuzzy.
